Bennett’s fracture

A Bennett’s fracture is an intra-articular fracture of the base of the first metacarpal (arrow). These are prone to displacement; when displaced, as in this case, they generally require surgical management. When comminuted (i.e., more than two fragments), the injury is called a Rolando fracture.
