Galleazzi fracture/dislocation
Galleazzi fracture. The radius and ulna should be considered to be like a ring – it’s difficult to break a ring in a single place, and it’s difficult to damage the radius and ulna in only one location. For that reason, if only one injury is visible, search carefully for a second. Typical combinations include a fractured radius with a dislocated distal radio-ulnar joint (pointed to by arrow in this case, and known as a Galleazzi fracture/dislocation), a fractured ulna with a dislocated radial head at the elbow (Monteggia fracture/dislocation), and a fractured radial head with a dislocated distal radioulnar joint (Essex-Lopresti fracture/dislocation).
