Hangman fracture
Hangman fracture. Spotting this injury can be difficult at the best of times – in this case, one of the patient’s earrings partially obscures the fracture. A hangman’s fracture has two radiographic features – bilateral fractures of the pedicles of C2 (you can see a vertical fracture line in this example, white arrow), and anterior subluxation of C2 on C3 resulting in an abnormal anterior spinal line (indicated by the yellow arrow).
