Liver abscesses

Liver abscesses. There are multiple low attenuation lesions in the liver in this CT image, the largest of which, in the right lobe, contains some gas. These were all liver abscesses. The patient had been admitted with acute diverticulitis – this is a common source for the seeding of liver abscesses (via the portal vein).
