Obstructing Caecal Carcinoma
Obstructing caecal carcinoma. This patient presented with small bowel obstruction – note the valvulae conniventes in the dilated bowel loops on PFA (a). CT was performed and demonstrated that the cause was a caecal carcinoma that was obstructing the ileocaecal valve (large white arrows on image b). Some enlarged lymph nodes are shown adjacent to the tumour (small white arrow), due to metastatic disease. Unfortunately the CT also showed several metastases in the liver (yellow arrows on image c).
