Osteoarthritis – hip
Osteoarthritis. The cardinal features of osteoarthritis are joint space loss, osteophytes, subchondral sclerosis and subchondral cyst formation – but all four of these may not necessarily be present in every case. This case of severe osteoarthritis of the right hip is a nice example of joint space loss, marked sclerosis on both sides of the joint and very large subchondral cysts – but there is no osteophytosis.
