Parapneumonic effusion
Parapneumonic effusion. Here is another nice example of a meniscus sign due to pleural effusion. In this case, the effusion was due to extensive bronchopneumonia. Note the dense consolidation in the right lung, some of which is obscuring the silhouette of the right heart border, indicating that the middle lobe is one of the lobes involved. There are some air bronchograms in the consolidated lung (arrows).
